Skin growths vary drastically in appearance based on the reason for the growth. They cover a
huge spectrum of depth and severity.
Skin tags are skin-colored, small growths on a stalk often found on the eyelids, neck, armpits
and groin area. Although skin tags are not harmful, they can become an annoyance when
irritated by rubbing against jewelry or clothing.
Moles are clumps of pigmented cells that vary drastically in appearance and severity. Mole
treatment depends on the situation and diagnosis. Some can be left alone, but others either
need to be removed.
At InVita Health and Wellness, we may choose to treat the skin lesion by snipping with surgical
scissors, freezing with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy) or destroying it through the application of a
small amount of heat (electrocauterization).
Factors in this decision may include the size and location of the skin lesions on your body, your
medical history, your personal preference and other considerations. Skin tag and mole removal
is considered cosmetic and is not covered by insurance.
